Flagler College will open its doors to the public for a campus-wide open house from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m Saturday, Nov. 3.
As part of the 50th celebration schedule of events, the open house event will feature several key buildings including the former Hotel Ponce de Leon, the Solarium, Pollard Hall, Hanke Hall, Markland House, WFCF Radio Station and Alumni House, among others.
Guests are asked to pick up information and a free punch card at the Lewis Memorial Gazebo. The first 50 visitors to return a completed punch card to the Legacy Shop in the Rotunda of the former Hotel Ponce de Leon will receive a swag bag of 50th Anniversary Flagler goodies. All participants will receive 20 percent off one item.
The purpose of the open house is to see the life inside the historic landmark buildings, with which most are familiar, said Margo Thomas, director of alumni relations.
“We are hoping that by visiting our other buildings, people will come away with an understanding and enthusiasm for the learning experiences our students have every day here on campus,” Thomas said.
This event is the fourth in a string of others scheduled to celebrate the college’s 50th anniversary with the community. Other events include the special fall theater arts musical production of “All Shook Up” Nov. 7–10, starring Broadway actor Justin Matthew Sargent, and a children’s book reading by author Harvey E. Oyer III Dec. 1.
